04-01-2008: With a fresh and new Phone, LG seems to revitalize her Chocolate series in China. The LG KF600 is an innovative touch slider with InteractPad, a new technology. Will this idea also come to Europe?

As far as we know, the LG KF600 is only made for the Chinese market, but the used technology and the design of the device could easily come over to Europe. At the first place, LG would show that they are not only trend follower but also trend setter and second the Korean manufacturer would steal the hearts of many consumers.
The LG KF600 is a touchscreen slider of which the display is used in a unique and innovative way. The numbered keyboard can always be used in order to type messages, but the InteractPad that is projected on the display offers a totally new experience.

Unwiredview had the scoop to show the first images of this new technique. The LG KF600 namely has two displays: a large 262.000 colours TFT display at the top and a small 262.000 colours touchscreen at the bottom. The touchscreen is used as InteractPad, or multifunctional interact keys. The function that is chosen in the LG KF600 decides what kind of keys the InteractPad will use. When the musicplayer is started, the InteractPad will display music keys, when photos are viewed the InteractPad changes into a panel for zooming in and out.
The LG KF600 is a slider that is designed in LG's well-known Chocolate style. The black shiny outsides and the block-shaped keys fit the Black Label Series perfectly. The back offers a 3 megapixel camera, which is quite good for a mid-class LG device. Furthermore, GPRS support is present and this offers an average internet connection. The usage of the internet becomes even more attractive with the InteractPad because scrolling has never been as comfortable as with the LG KF600. When the internet browser is started, the InteractPad namely changes into a scroll function that can scroll from the left to the right and from the top to the bottom. This is also used for making and viewing notes.

Gaming also receives a new dimension with the InteractPad, where the top of the display is used in order to view something and the bottom is used in order to point out or touch something. With this, gaming becomes totally different.

So, two displays in the new Chinese Chocolate, and complete with new navigation possibilities. The LG KF600 was recently announced for the Chinese market and the device will probably never reacht the European countries. Might the slider try to travel all the way to Europe it could take some time. The InteractPad could be a good technique, also for Europe, and it will make many touchscreen fans happy.
