The Samsung i740 may not be made for the business market but the businessman to be will certainly find his way with this semi-business slider. Besides the Samsung i8510 INNOV8 the Korean manufacturer also announced a new Windows Mobile smartphone, the device is a nice average addition to Samsung's business portfolio.
As mentioned earlier, the Samsung i740 is not a real business device, this is due to the slider not offer UMTS and HSDPA support and because there is no trace of WiFi, however, the lack of a full keyboard is the main thing that causes this. So, real business possibilities is something we will not find on this handy device. Something that we will find though is a 262.000 colours display with QVGA resolution. Operation of the functions takes place with a digital mouse pointer that can be moved by moving your finger over the navigation key. A 3.2 megapixel camera can be found at the back, something that is becoming more or less a standard in Windows Mobile devices.

Other multimedia programs that are installed as a standard on the triple-band slider are Windows Media Player and a stereo FM radio. The memory consists of 150 MB but, of course, this is expandable with MicroSD and TransFlash memorycards so you will always have enough room for your music, photos and Office files. The latter indicates that full Office support is not overlooked.
Just as with most Windows Mobile devices of these days Samsung has given her i740 a GPS reciever. This makes sure that, with the needed software, you can use the device as small navigation system.
The Samsung i740 is expected in the shops round OCtober, the average salesprice will be about 300 euro.
