18-08-2008: During an internet metting in which two devices were shown to only a couple of invited the Nokia N85 and 8800 Carbon Arte were presented. Will these two devices be announced next week?

Last week, Nokia sent some invitations round for an internet pressmeeting in which the invited would receive the possibility to meet two unknown devices. In this invitation Nokia wrote that the lucky ones would see the devices one week ahead of its official launch. Today the exclusive internet meeting was held at 9.00 AM, the two names that came forward are the Nokia N85 and the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte.
Despite the fact that there are still no photos or screenshots of the exclusive meeting of today, some details seemed to be able to come forward from Nokia's secret meeting, namely the two names Nokia N85 and Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte. With thanks to Eldar Murtazin, owner of Mobile Review, the first details of the duo are available. The scheme that was made by him after the meeting of today shows shows some Nokia devices and a certain month. What this month may be (month of release, announcement, advertizement campaign), it is clear that the Nokia N85 and the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte are coming up, and fast.

Scheme Nokia N85 and Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte
The Nokia N85 is a device that we met earlier in the
rumour mill. Continueing the design of the
Nokia N81, the Nokia N85 will be a multimedia dual-slider with a 5 megapixel camera, musicplayer, GPS receiver and Nokia Maps, UMTS and maybe even HSDPA support, and, we could have guessed it, it operates on the Symbian system.
The Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte is a different story, we haven't met this device earlier and not a lot of details of the device are available yet. Due to the name of the device the expectation is that it might be (partly) made of carbon fibre. Just like other 8800 devices the 8800 Carbon Arte will probably be a slider, made for the fashion-conscious consumer. Further specifications that the device could offer are a 3.2 megapixel camera, musicplayer and Nokia's own operating system. We're almost sure that UMTS support will be on board, whether HSDPA will also be supported is something we don't know yet.
The Nokia N85 should have an average salesprice of less than 550 euro, we cannot say anything about the 8800 Carbon Arte yet. If the scheme is right and it is about release dates, the 8800 Carbon Arte would reach the shops round September, the Nokia N85 round October. Strange here is that in this case the Nokia N82 would only have been sold in Russia since this month. We expect Nokia to announce the two devices next week.
