30-08-2008: At the IFA in Berlin Samsung had a huge announcement of twelve new devices focusing on different areas of the market. Some could be admired in real life, others were only visible behind glass.

Samsung did her best at the IFA in Berlin these days and introduced twelve new devices here. Quite an amount for a, for mobile standards, small event, but of course a very strategic step because competition of other brands was not to be found at the IFA. Spread over the prepaid section, middle section and high-end section of the market and focusing on different target groups, such as music, dual-sim and robustness, Samsung showed again that they have a good product for every consumer. Here is a short overview of the twelve new devices.
Samsung M150
Made for the prepaid section of the market and only 13 millimeters thick the Samsung M150 is also called the "Mobile Calling Card". If you just want to make calls, send SMS messages and maybe listen to some music you're at the right address with the Samsung M150. The device is easy to use, offers handy keys and it is equipped with a good standby and talk time.

The Samsung M150 offers a stereo FM radio and of course, Samsung delivers a stereo headset with the device as a standard. At the back an easy VGA camera is placed that can be reached via the menu. The device will be available in different colours, the full possibilities can be found at the

Samsung S7330
This slider showed up in the rumour circuit earlier and today it was, although behind glass, to be admired for the first time. The Samsung S7330 is a nice mid-class device with an Interactpad, a 3.2 megapixel camera, musicplayer and stereo FM radio.

The Samsung S7330 has, just like the Samsung U900 Soul, a so-called Interactpad. This mini touchpad functions as navigation key and with a simple touch you can reach your favourite functions, open a possibility or operate the musicplayer. The device is equipped with UMTS and HSDPA support for reaching the internet.

Samsung B210
Despite the fact that this device couldn't be admired in real life at the IFA Samsung still announced the B210 here. The Samsung B210 is a slim player for the prepaid section and with this it is mainly made for calling and SMSing because the device doesn't have an integrated camera. The display of the candybar is a 65.000 colours display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels.
For some musical support, a stereo FM radio is present that can be used with the delivered stereo headset. Handy applications such as an agenda, alarm function, the date and time and some games are present on the candybar. The full specifications of the Samsung B210 can be viewed

Samsung B130
The Samsung B130 also is a player for the prepaid market, only this time it is designed in discrete black and the Samsung B130 is made for the real die-hard prepaid user. No extra's such as a camera, musicplayer or FM radio, only calling and SMSing, something the mobile phone is made for in the early days. Because the device offers no multimedia functions at all it is understandable that the device will have a very sharp price.

Despite the fact that the Samsung B130 is really made for the prepaid section the device still has a surprisingly nice display with 65.000 colours and 128 x 128 pixels. The dual-band candybar has no musicplayer but it is possible toset polyfonic and MP3 music as a ringtone. However, you can't store an enormous amount of ringtones because the device only has a standard memory capacity.

Samsung D980 DUOS
With almost the same specifications as the Samsung F480 TouchWiz, the Samsung D980 is the dual-sim brother of this touchscreen candybar. The advantage of a dual-sim device is that you can place two simcards in it and stay standby on both numbers at the same time. This is ideal of you want to combine your business with your private life and don't want to bring two mobile phones along.
The Samsung F480 turned out to be a very popular device because it is equipped with the intuitive TouchWiz interface in which a Widget beam will give information about, for example, your agenda, your photos, birthdays etc. Furthermore, the back of the candybar is equipped with a very expanded 5 megapixel camera that offers several possibilities.
Samsung D980 DUOS
The 262.000 colours touchscreen reacts surprisingly fast to touch so the functions are opened immediately. A small change in comparison with the Samsung TouchWiz is that the device doesn't offer UMTS and HSDPA support but only GPRS. With this, the internet can still be reached but not as fast as with the Samsung F480.

Samsung E215
Unfortunately the Samsung E215 couldn't be admired in Berlin, but we do have the specifications of this prepaid clamshell. With two colour displays of which the internal display offers 262.000 colours and the external display 65.000 colours, the Samsung E215 is ready for the real work. With this quad-band candybar you cannot only make calls and send messages but also make photos with the VGA camera and listen to music with the musicplayer and the stereo FM radio.
The Samsung E215 comes to the market in different colours and will offer handy applications such as an agenda, alarm, mediaplayer, task list, a calculator and some games. The full specifications of the Samsung E215 can be viewed at the

Samsung M3510 Beat
The first Samsung device in the Beat Series was revealed at the IFA, the M3510. The Samsung Beatr Series will focus on the music fan and with this Samsung also enters the market of the young consumer who loves music. Besides the regular keys, a navigation key and quick keys, the Samsung M3510 Beat offers three extra quick keys for the musicplayer. These keys are placed just underneath the display and they give the candybar the looks of a real musicplayer.

The Samsung M3510 Beat also offers a stereo FM radio besides its musicplayer. The 262.000 colours display will show all functions of the device, under which the internet browser, perfectly. With a GPRS connection data can be sent and received. At the back a 2 megapixel camera is placed thsat offers some quick snapshots.

Samsung B510
The Samsung B510 also showed her face in the rumour mill earlier. Unfortunately we don't have any photos of the Samsung B510 but we do have the full specifications. The Samsung B510 is a slider and will be sold in combination with a prepaid package. The slider offers a stereo FM radio and a 65.000 colours display.
Bluetooth support makes sure that you can send and receive ringtones and other files. Handy applications such as an agenda, calculater and memories aren't forgotten. The full possibilities of the Samsung B510 can be viewed at her

Samsung B2700
Specially designed for the rougher crowd the Samsung B2700 for it all. Entirily dust and waterproof the Samsung B2700 can handle it. The device has a pedometer, height meter and compass as extra functions, the last works really good and accurately, so we noticed.

Of course, you can also make calls and send messages with the Samsung B2700, but it is also possible to listen to some music with the stereo FM radio and the musicplayer. Despite the fact that the device can handle almost everything it is still possible to expand the 20 MB internal memory with MicroSD memorycards, ideal for nice ringtones and music. Making photos is something you cannot do with the Samsung B2700, this could damage the robustness of the device so we don't consider this a strange thing.

Samsung B300
The Samsung B300 is a device that wasn't displayed at the IFA in Berlin but we do have the official specifications of it. A stereo FM radio and musicplayer are on board, unfortunately no camera. The display is a 65.000 colours display with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels and GPRS support is present for sending MMS messages.
The Samsung B300 offers the possibility to choose polyfonic and MP3 ringtones, the internal memory is not that expanded so a musicplayer could be used for listening to them. The memory cannot be expanded. The full specifications of the Samsung B300 can be viewed at her

Samsung P180
Whether the device will really come to all countries in Europe is not known at this moment, the Samsung P180 namely is a UMA device with which it is possible to make calls via the internet and a WiFi connection. Besides the UMA support the Samsung P180 is not really more than a prepaid device, it has a VGA camera, a 65.000 colours display, a musicplayer and only 14 MB internal memory.

Despite the fact that the Samsung P180 "only" has a GPRS connection the clamshell still offers the possibility to use the internet and e-mail. Of course, this has to do with the WiFi connection the device offers, a connection that is extremely fast and something you will use when you can.

Samsung M200
The Samsung M200 is the last device of today and that is actually quite good because we wouldn't be able to keep our heads clear if there were more. The Samsung M200 is also designed as a candybar and offers a 1.3 meagpixel camera and 32 MB expandable memory so you will be able to store enough photos and music. The device offers a musicplayer and a stereo FM radio, but also the possibility to reach the internet and e-mail with a GPRS connection.
