15-01-2010: The firmware of a new Samsung device showed up today, the Samsung S5620 MOnte. This device will probably become the follower of the Samsung Star and Samsung Preston. What are the specs of teh device?

Yesterday evening, Mobile Phone Helpdesk received a tip that a new Samsung device should be coming up soon, proven by the firmware of the device. The Samsung S5620 MOnte, as the device is called for now, will probably become the follower of the Samsung Star and the Samsung Preston.

There are no images of the Samsung S5620 MOnte yet, but the details that come up via the firmware of the device are very promising. First of all, we notice that the device will have a Qualcomm process, which directly indicates that the device will be delivered with a certain amount of power and that the devie will most likely offer a good amount of internal memory.

Further details that we have on the Samsung S5620 MOnte is that the device will be equipped with WiFi and bluetooth and, if we check out the Samsung Preston and the Samsung Star, we expect that UMTS and HSDPA will be added to these features. The Samsung S5620 Monte is a touchscreen device, probably focussed on the average to starting mobile caller.

Information on when the device will be presented is something we cannot derive from the firmware of course, but we guess that this announcement will take place at the Mobile World Congress, which will take place next month in Barcelona.
