High fashion Sony Ericsson Jalou

12-08-2009: Sony Ericsson launches the Sony Ericsson Jalou today, a very small phone with a big fashion statement. The device is only 73.5 mm large, is affordable but still very complete.

By: Tim Wijkman

Today, Sony Ericsson has launched her newest fashion phone, the Sony Ericsson Jalou. The incredibly small phone, with a diamond-like design, is not just special to see, but is also packed with functionality. Due to her special design, the Jalou is more a nice fashiona accesoiry than a mobile phone. With 73 mm in size, the phone is even smaller than a lipstick and will therefore fit in every purse. When the Jalou is in your purse, a mirror is unnecessary because the display at the inside of the phone can be turned into a mirror with the special "mirror key".

The Sony Ericsson Jalou is a clamshell phone with a hidden display at the outside. This display will only become visible when the device is closed and the volume keys are pressed. The time, network coverage and the battery status will appear on the display in that case. The hidden display will also come to life when a phonecall or message comes in. Therefore you will already know who's calling before you open the device.

The Sony Ericsson Jalou will come to the shops in the colours "Deep Amethyst", "Aquamarine Blue" and in "Onx Black". The diamond-texture of the Jalou goes on when you open the device and it will have a stylish black colour there. A 2 inch QVGA display is placed at the inside of the device, over which a mirror effect is placed. With the special 'mirror key', the display can be shut down, due to which it will change into a mirror.

Besides the fashion-character of the Jalou, the phone is also very functional. For the sporty woman, the device is equipped with Walkmate (an expanded step counter) and a calory counter with the possibility to calculate the BMI. On the area of connectivity, the device also offers a complete package despite of its size and price. The device has UMTS and HSDPA support for quick mobile internet and the device is packed with a stereo FM radio with RDS. Furthermore, a 3.2 megapixel camera is also added to the specslist.
