28-08-2009: LG seems to be launching a new Viewty very soon, one with a full keyboard. A strange combination, don't you think? Or is it just part of the LG Viewty cameraphone of the future?

Insiders might recognize the type number of LG's new so-called Viewty device. The device that we spotted in the shops today is namely called LG Viewty GW300. But the name Viewty, that is the name of the cameraphones of LG, isn't it? True, and that is exactly what makes this story strange. Although LG hasn't officially announced the Viewty GW300 yet, the device was in the windows of French telecom shops already.

The LG Viewty GW300 will probably be made for the bottom of the market, which might explain the name "Viewty". The device will offer a 2 megapixel camera, with which you can shoot both photos and videos. This is totally fine for a budget cameraphone.
Besides camera possibilities, the LG Viewty GW300 also offers a full keyboard, which is ideal for youngsters because they send more SMS messages and e-mails than the older generation. The 262.000 colours display will at least be clear and large enough to type endless messages. The internal memory of 10 MB is expandable with MicroSD memorycards, so you can photograph as much as you want and store as many tracks as you like.
Although the Netherlands department of LG couldn't give us any information on the LG Viewty GW300 and the device hasn't been announced by the Korean brand, it is very strange that the device is already in the French shops and it is also quite strange that the device will receive the name "Viewty". Might we find more information on the LG Viewty GW300, we will keep you informed of course.
