16-06-2010: Sony Ericsson today announced her Xperia X8, an Android smartphone that is just in between the Xperia X10 and Xperia X10 Mini on the area of size and specs. The device will come in fresh colours.

Today, Sony Ericsson updated almost all series of her portfolio, including the Xperia series. With the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, Sony Ericsson fills the gap between the high-end Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and the cute little Xperia X10 Mini.
Among Sony Ericsson insiders, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 is not an entirely new device any more. The device was already known in the rumour circuit as the Sony Ericsson Shakira. Just as the rumours indicated, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 is smaller than the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, but larger than the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X8's interface is the same as of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini. In the four corners of the start screen we find shortcuts to the most used features. By dragging the displays you will reach different menus and features.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 operates on the Android operating system. This is mainly visisble in the menu, where you have access to the Android Market. With this you can download new apps and games, free or against charge.

At the back we find a convenient 3.2 megapixel camera. You can shoot as many photos with this camera as you like, because the memory is expandable. Nice to colour your updates on social networks, that you keep up with by Timescape,. Your media ends up in Sony Ericsson's Mediascape. It may be clear that you can take along music as well. Even better, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 is well-represented on this area. On top of the device we namely find an AVP port, which has never been used in a mobile phone before. With this, you can connect both 3.5 mm cables and special AVP cables so you can listen to HD quality audio with a special headset or boxes.

The display has a size of 3 inches and is perfect to surf the internet with. This is on a good speed with help of 3G support and WiFi.
