Android Market has most free Apps
06-07-2010: From a research survey from the Dutch company Distimo is proven that the Android Market offers most free apps in relation to other markets. About 57 percent of all Android apps is free.

According to research of the Dutch company Distimo, which is occupied with the analysis of application stores, the Android platform offers the most free apps in relation to other app stores. In the Android Market, about 57 percent of all applications is free at this moment.
The App Store from Apple still offers the most free apps in numbers, which mainly originates from the fact that the App Store still offers four times more apps at the moment. At Apple, 23 percent of all apps are free, which comes down to 51.750 free apps.
The smalles boy in class remains the Windows Marketplace for the Windows Mobile platform. The application store from Microsoft offers 1.014 apps at the moment, and is the smallest offer of apps on the market. About 22 percent can be downloaded for free. Furthermore, every five of the ten apps that can be found in the Windows Marketplace is from Microsoft herself.
The new Bada OS from Samsung has is not taken up in the reports from Distimo yet.
