Are kinetic phones the future?

22-07-2010: Brother Industries, known for her printers, is developing a battery that is charged by means of movement. Will this kinetic technology become the future of the eco phone?

By: Willeke de Haas

Brother Industries, known for her industrial printers and the more expanded printers, is developing a special battery that charges itself by means of movement, also called kinetic. At this moment, the development of the battery is still at its start, but we may come across such technology in the eco phone in the future.

At this moment, Borther Industries only has an AA battery in development that can be charged by means of movement, but the company may also experiment with batteries for, for example, mobile phones. The ultimate eco phone has not been invented yet and a kinetic battery could be the solution. So far, some eco phones are only charged by solar energy, but that is not enough for a day of standby time or to talk for hours on the phone. Whether Brother Industries' kinetic battery will do you this pleasure with its final version is something we'd have to wait for.
